Bullied targets in the public schools workplace are operating in a very complex battle ground. Cronism and nepotism rule. As a bullied teacher, you may be up against a politically connected administrator, an abusive colleague that is connected or very often – related to – others in the school system, in the municipality, or to a member of the local school committee. or the union itself plays dirty politics with the administration and town/city officials.
To the critics that will say – just leave and find another job – like any profession – teachers have educated themselves and trained for that specific vocation. Try “finding another job” when all of those connected officials, administrators etc – are connected in all of the surrounding communities as well.
Thank you for producing this documentary. I hope you can present this in a way that will garner public attention and let people know that the true cost of workplace hostility and bullying goes beyond the health and well-being of the bullied target. The cost is also economic. It is societal. Organizations are negatively impacted with compromised productivity, days lost to sick time etc. Entire families are hurt. Simply speaking, bullying in the workplace is unhealthy for our society…Have you thought about contacting Dr. Sanjay Gupta and other national recognized healthcare professionals?
