Born and raised in New York City, our director came to Las Vegas at the age of 21. He attended school in Las Vegas for graphic design and videography. It was there that he fell in love with the visual arts. He began working various positions in the newspaper field, from graphic designer to photojournalist. Though he enjoyed this field of work, it was a hard way to pay the bills with a growing family.
Our director settled upon a more stable career, working 9-5 for a large, nationwide company where he knew he would be able to find financial security for himself and his family. While he found financial security, excellent benefits, and the promise of a comfortable retirement, he also found some negative sides to this company. He found a management system that bullied its employees as a way to increase their bottom line. He found supervisors who screamed, berated, and harassed as a way to get employees to do what they wanted. Was the trade-off worth this price? He wasn’t sure. His emotional health began to suffer, as did his relationships outside of work.
Eventually our director decided to use his photojournalistic and videography skills to bring this abusive treatment to light. He was one of lucky ones. He survived this abuse. Many are not so lucky. This documentary is his way to help those who are still in situations like this. His way to let them know that they are not alone. His way to show them that the abuse is not their fault. Our director wants to help victims of bullying and abuse. Children and teens are not the only victims of bullying. It happens in the workplace every day. He believes if we stand up together we can find an end to the bullying. For everyone.
